Meet  our  Team

McKenna Daut is our director of all Spoon Circus programming outreach and operations. She began spinning hoops in 2015 and immediately fell in love with the practice, and feeling of all the small wins along the way. McKenna began involvement with Social Circus in 2019 both in the continental US and abroad. McKenna is an active advocate for inclusive education, having graduated in Inclusive Education and Family studies from Syracuse University in 2017. McKenna loves spinning and juggling hula hoops, hanging out with Anderson (see below) and baking lots of sweets.

Kati Eason, a dedicated educator with over half her life devoted to working with children, holds a secondary teaching certificate from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her passion for organization and administration shines as she adeptly manages the logistical intricacies of running Spoon Circus. From her early days as a nanny and summer camp staff to her impactful journey in secondary education, Kati brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to spreading joy through accessible and empowering programming.

Dusty works as the behind the scenes magic man, managing everything from all the circus equipment, programming our website, building circus props, and more! A life-long juggler, performer and builder, Dusty brings dedication, creativity, and a strong work ethic to Spoon Circus. With a background in hands-on production and event support, they play an essential role in keeping programs running smoothly behind the scenes. Dusty has made it his mission to give as many people as possible the joy of juggling

Lucas has been a Flow Artist and Fire Performer for 10+ years and primarily focus on Poi/Juggling. He has a M.A in Arts Leadership from Colorado State University, lives in Beaverton, Oregon and co-runs a Digital Marketing Business called "Tensegrity D. Lucas also has over 6 years of professional experience with many experiences in Event Management, Digital Marketing, and Teaching. As an artist, Lucas runs a tutorial series on Instagram called “Tangle Tuesday” and helps run a weekly local flow jam for his community. Poi is his main prop and he has spent a lot of time exploring the poi trick category known as 'tangles'. "Knots are my jam!"

Moti loves dancing, hanging from a trapeze bar, standing on his hands, spinning, swinging, twisting, and all types of yoyo. He’s played diabolo since he was a kid and he’d love to teach you how! Besides teaching and performing with Spoon Circus, Moti writes grants to help bring Spoon programs as far and wide as possible! So if you want to bring Spoon Circus to your community and think it might not be feasible… get in touch!

Cal loves the flow, play, and sense of community that circus brings. They have been a flow artist and fire performer for over eight years and are deeply rooted in the vibrant Humboldt circus community. Beginning with The Humboldt Circus at Cal Poly Humboldt, he served as Co-Head Clown for two years and led the Fire Troupe for a year and a half, performing in more than fifteen shows and numerous fire events. Cal has also taught juggling and levi wand for many years at Camp Winnarainbow with Wavy Gravy, sharing their passion for movement and creative expression with youth and adults alike. Beyond circus, they are an avid surfer and have taught surfing for six years.

You'd be hard pressed to find August without some props close at hand. Jumping into the juggling world heart-first led him to the Portland Spoon Circus troupe, and the rest is history in the making. Whether it's clubs, balls, rings, hoops or even fans, he'll throw em' in the air... and sometimes even catch them before they hit the ground! When he's not throwing (and hopefully catching) props, August is likely to be found balancing them on his nose, baking cookies, or training calisthenics - oftentimes all at once!
